The BEST Homemade Hummus Recipe

I got tired of purchasing packaged hummus from the grocery store. I don't know if I am becoming a hummus snob or what but I just felt that most of them just didn't taste very good. And some had a strong preservative aftertaste, if that is even a thing...
So I set out to try making my own at home. I drug my feet a little because, ugh so much work! Dragging my big heavy food processor out and making a mess just sounded exhausting tbh. BUT it's like most things in life, good things take time :)
Although this actually didn't take that much time! Yes, it's more work than opening a package and dipping right in, but it def feels more aligned with how I want to take care of my body. Aka preservative and chemical free.
This recipe is so yummy and easy. You can tweak the ingredients depending on what you have on hand and what you like. One of the only packaged hummuses that I like is that Siracha Carrot one, I can't recall the brand. Anyway, I am working on trying to replicate that one. But that's the fun of it, you can make it how you want!
I do notice that one can of chickpeas actually makes quite a lot of hummus! So keep in mind that if you don't have a family that also likes hummus it might go bad. It only stays fresh for about a week in the fridge. I have yet to try to freeze it because I really don't think that would work. But if you try it, def let me know how it works out!
You may be asking yourself, what does this have to do with sobriety? Well, let me tell you friend, for one, once you give up booze it creates a ripple effect on all other areas of your life. You are going to want to start eating healthy and I want to provide you with some EASY recipes to get you started in the right direction. Too often I find recipes are soooo tedious and lengthy. Eating healthy doesn't need to be hard! And for two, when going alc-free it takes time for your body to heal so let's give it the nutrients it needs to do just that. Lastly, eating a healthy diet is one of the best things you can do to keep yourself satisfied and feeling good. And when we feel good, we are less likely to turn to booze to make us feel good.
